Budget worthy Car. On the highway, it delivers an impressive fuel economy of 15–17 kmpl alongside a silent and smooth ride, though you must compromise on city mileage, which drops to around 7–10 kmpl. Aside from this, it stands out as the best in its class for infotainment, air conditioning, and interior finishes compared to other vehicles in the same price range.

Focuses heavily on Kia’s strong points—premium cabin tech, segment-first features, and bold road presence.. Buying Experience & Looks The purchase process at the Kia dealership was incredibly smooth, transparent, and well-managed. Visually, the Sonet stands out effortlessly in the compact SUV segment. It features a bold, muscular stance, an aggressive front grille, and striking LED lights that give it an excellent, high-class road presence. Interiors & Comfort Step inside, and the cabin feels instantly premium. It is easily one of the most feature-loaded and tech-savvy cars in its price segment. The dashboard layout is intuitive, the touchscreen infotainment is highly responsive, and the front seats offer great bolstering and comfort for long drives. However, the rear seat space is a bit of a pinch; it is best suited for two adults rather than three, and taller passengers might find the knee room a little tight. Performance & Handling Driving the Sonet in city traffic is absolutely effortless. The steering is light and nimble, making it very easy to maneuver through tight spots and park in crowded areas. On the open highway, the car shows impressive stability and feels planted at higher speeds. The ride quality is generally good, though the suspension is tuned slightly on the firmer side, meaning you will feel sharp bumps and potholes inside the cabin when driving at lower speeds. Mileage & Maintenance In bumper-to-city traffic, the car delivers a practical mileage of around 11–13 kmpl. On the highways, if you maintain steady speeds, the fuel economy easily goes up to 16–18 kmpl, making it a fairly balanced mile-muncher. Kia's after-sales service has also been quite positive and hassle-free so far.

Excellent Driving feel. Bought a Kia 1 month back and driven it 500kms till now, and I must tell you the driving experience is awesome. I have driven 3XO and Nexon, but this one is the most comfortable driving possible. It has a good and unique design that people notice on the street, interior is designed to keep everything sleek and fancy. I don't know why people have problems with the suspension of Sonet. I personally find it very comfortable. Driving AT Diseal didn't give me any power issues, in fact, in sports mode it flies like a rocket. Wireless charging, safety features like auto local unlock as per speed and front back sensors, sunroof, auto stop mode of traffic, let's you have all the premium features at just 13-14 lakhs, which is awesome. My friend has a high model and he is jealous of me. I find it a good buy for a family car

Good review, but I think a few important points were missed. Mileage should ideally be calculated using the full-tank method, not the instrument cluster, as the cluster can be optimistic and may not reflect real-world fuel economy. I have driven this car, and while the ride quality is comfortable, the suspension feels on the softer side. At highway speeds above 100 km/h, I noticed some lateral body movement, which slightly reduces confidence compared to cars with a firmer setup. I also feel we're paying quite a premium for a small car that realistically seats only four adults comfortably. Finally, it would have been very helpful if you had shared the actual service bills and maintenance costs instead of just mentioning that the service was done. That information would be valuable for potential buyers.

Kia Sonet Performance. The kia Sonet is impressive and compact suv that stands out with modern design and features. It delivers a good mileage if 18.5 lit on long drives. The engine is smooth and refined with very low noise levels. The breaking performance is not entirely up to expectations and this is an area where improvement would make the vehicle even better. Overall kia Sonet is a great combination of style, performance and comfort especially suited for long drives with a note of caution on breaking and high-speed handling.

Honest review. Honest Review of My Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition (3 Years) I have been using my Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition for the past three years, and overall it has been a very satisfying experience. Some aspects of the car really stand out, while a few areas could have been better especially rear seat space and shocks are a bit stiff.

Kia Sonet. This is my very first car, and I must say, it’s been a delight so far. From the outside, it looks stunning, and from the inside, it feels even more premium—almost like being in a luxury car. The finishing, feel, touch, and overall comfort are excellent. I opted for the HTK optional variant, which comes loaded with features like automatic AC, automatic headlights, foldable ORVMs, a sunroof, rear AC vents, and one-touch automatic window controls (operable both individually and from the driver’s seat). The driving experience is smooth and enjoyable. Yes, you can feel the bumps a bit on potholes if you’re going fast, but overall, the suspension works well. Currently, I’m getting an average of 9–10 km/l, but I have only driven 240 km in the past two months, so I expect it to improve. The handling is excellent, and driving it is genuinely fun. I have already completed the first service, which mainly involved routine checks. My experience with Kia’s service centre was great—they handle everything smoothly, take regular follow-ups, and keep you updated via WhatsApp with details and photos of the work being done. It gives you complete peace of mind without having to put in much effort yourself. Also, boot space is quite good and rear seat comfort is also fine. Safety is also good, 6 airbags, tyre monitoring, front and back parking sensors with a camera. EBD, EBS, front disc and rear drum brakes. Height-adjustable seats with all functionality provided on the car steering. Car steering is also adjustable, but not telescopic.

Performance that beats estimates. Have been using this for the last 3 years and drove over 40000 kms, including multiple long rides. The best thing about this car is its performance and comfort during long drives. Features are totally value for money, and the service experience is good too, coming from a previous Maruti owner. I have got mileage higher than ARAI mileage in this car and have got 18-19 with ac on, long rides too, at an average speed of 70-80.

Infotainment panel started behaving abnormally. In July 2024, I took my Kia Sonet for service. It was perfect, but immediately after the service, the steering wheel and infotainment panel started behaving abnormally. The steering wheel makes a 'gharr' 'gharr' sound when rotating, and the infotainment panel's touch began acting strangely with a beep-beep sound. I immediately called them, and I was told that these issues would be repaired during the next servicing. I had other cars, so I did not face many problems, as these irregularities did not disturb my driving. When I contacted them next time, I was told the warranty period is over and now repairing is chargeable, though it's a manufacturing defect.

You should know before buying sonet??. Owning the Kia Sonet has been a surprisingly satisfying experience. From the moment I took delivery, its bold stance and tiger-nose grille turned heads in my neighborhood. I opted for the 1.5L diesel automatic—smooth, punchy, and fuel-efficient, giving me around 21 kmpl on highway runs. The cabin feels premium for its segment: ventilated front seats, a crisp 10.25-inch touchscreen, and that Bose sound system—chef’s kiss during long drives. The steering is light in the city and stable on highways. Parking is a breeze with the rear camera and sensors. I’ve used the wireless Android Auto daily, and the sunroof adds a nice touch of flair. The rear seat space is decent for kids, though taller adults might feel a bit snug. What really impressed me was the safety kit—six airbags, ESC, and hill assist. During monsoons in Udupi, the grip and braking gave me confidence. Service costs have been reasonable, and Kia’s network is growing fast. It’s not just a car—it’s a statement. Sporty, tech-packed, and reliable. If you want a compact SUV that feels premium without breaking the bank, the Sonet delivers. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants style with substance.

We upgraded from Xuv 3OO W6 Diesel MT to Sonet HTX (O)Diesel Auto. We didn't go with 3XO as it had AMT for such a price and Sonet has torque converter. Pros: The main upgrade I felt was, Sonet got better quality interiors, Torque converter, interior& exterior styling(Subjective) and feature loaded(even though it's not high end we got ventilated seats, alloys, remote start and much more). Since we have the last facelift model with wider DRL, the car is a looker. Also, better boot space than 3OO. Cons: But, the main issue with the Sonet is hard suspension. 3OO was much more stable at high speeds, felt solid and decently comfy but sonet ride quality is not that good. Also, Sonet can't fit 3 people at second row due to less width. Also, I hate the HTX(O) variant's calculator styled speedo(My 3OO had classic Analogue cluster). Overall solid, hefty feel is lacking. I think if you are upgrading from smaller/lower segment cars, these cons might not be that visible.

Turbo Thrills, But Your Back Might Disagree. This car is a head-turner with a turbocharged engine that delivers serious performance. Acceleration is smooth, power delivery is punchy, and it feels alive on the highway. The design? Sharp, stylish, and modern—definitely a visual win. But once you settle into the driver's seat, reality hits. - Mileage is a mixed bag. In city traffic, expect a modest 10–11 km/l, which feels underwhelming for daily use. On highways, it redeems itself slightly with 16–18 km/l, but still not class-leading. - Comfort is where things really fall apart. The suspension is rock solid—literally. Even small potholes feel like you're being punished for driving. It’s not just stiff; it’s borderline brutal. You’ll feel every bump like the car’s falling apart beneath you, and your spine might file a complaint. Final Take: If you crave power and style and don’t mind sacrificing comfort and fuel efficiency, this car might be your match. But for Kochi’s unpredictable roads and daily commutes, it’s a rough ride—physically and financially.

Good car with bad suspension setup. I bought this car purely for the 1.5 diesel with TC gearbox, but during test drives, the car appears ok. But the suspension is so bad that it starts jumping on highway joints. The car seat is not that comfortable, but livable, suspension is at its worst.

Sonet The Best. Good mascular car but mileage is the problem. Premium-looking interior and feature list for the price. Easy to drive in city traffic due to compact dimensions. Turbo-petrol and diesel engines offer good performance. Comfortable front seats and good highway stability. Overall the car looks good, worth buying it. I'm loving this car.

The perfect balance of style, features and practicality for Indian families!!!. I purchased the Kia Sonet HTK Optional after comparing several cars in this segment, and it has turned out to be one of my best decisions. The buying experience was smooth, and the dealership staff explained all the features and variants clearly, which made the selection process easy. The first thing that impressed me was the road presence. The Sonet looks premium and sporty, and many people still ask if it's a higher variant. The LED DRLs, alloy wheels, and overall design make it stand out on the road. The cabin feels modern, and the fit and finish are surprisingly good for this price range. Driving in city traffic is effortless due to its compact dimensions, while highway drives feel stable and confidence-inspiring. The suspension is well balanced and handles bad roads comfortably without making passengers feel uneasy. The engine performance is smooth and refined, and the steering is light for city use while offering good confidence at higher speeds. What I particularly like is that the HTK Optional variant offers excellent value for money. It gives most of the practical features that families need without stretching the budget to higher variants. The rear seat comfort, boot space, and infotainment system are all adequate for daily commuting and weekend trips. Service costs have been reasonable so far, and Kia's service network has been satisfactory. Pros: Premium looks, feature-rich package, comfortable ride quality, practical cabin space, easy city driving, good value for money. Cons: Rear visibility could have been slightly better, and some premium features are reserved for higher variants.

Kia Sonet - Stylish Opulent Nimble Efficient Trendy. The need for a new car arose in late 2022, when we wanted a better car for longer trips, and our old car wasn't doing the job. So we searched for a real automatic car, barring AMTs, as our previous experience with AMTs wasn't great, we wanted something that is fuel efficient with good ground clearance and features, all under 15 lakhs on the road at the time. So we weren't initially interested in Diesel, considering most were mated to AMTs, but then one day the Sonet caught our eye. It had the same 1.5 1.5-litre diesel engine as the larger Seltos mated to a Torque Converter Automatic. This was perhaps a unique proposition in the sub-four-metre SUV space then, as no car had a Diesel Automatic then, all had Diesel AMTs only. So we went to the showroom and got a test drive, and we were immediately impressed. We had gone for test drives on other cars in the segment, but none of them had all of us happy like the Sonet. So we decided to proceed with the purchase. The buying experience was excellent, with everything arranged quite quickly. There was a delivery ceremony with cake cutting and key handover; it was such a great experience from Kia Thrissur. Now, coming to the driving, the car drives well, with no smooth shifts and linear acceleration, the torque is addictive and overtakes on the highway are easy, the car is a good mile muncher too and gives great mileage on the highway and the city alike, I have got over 26 kmpl on the highway while average mileage stands at around 19 kmpl, in the city, the mileage does take a dip but I have been getting around 15 kmpl and I am quite satisfied with the mileage. We have gone on trips from Thrissur to Bangalore, Thrissur to Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur to Wayanad, Thrissur to Chennai and a whole lot more on our Sonet, and the comfort, mileage and reassurance that the Sonet gives us is second to none. Coming to looks, it is a looker even today, and the Aurora Black Pearl colour perfectly complements its curves and creases. The car looks bold in this colour, and we are absolutely in love with the car's looks. Moving on to features, it is one of the most feature-loaded cars in the segment with features like remote engine start-stop, reverse camera, touchscreen infotainment, rear sunblinds, sunroof, TPMS and a whole lot more. The boot is large with 392 litres to gobble up all your luggage. As regards performance, it is a perfect match of mileage and performance, when you want the best from it in terms of performance, it gives it to you with a 0 to 100 time of around 11 seconds, while if you crave mileage you can chug along the entire day around 60 kmph and get mileage in the 20s too. Coming to servicing and maintenance, we had taken the Kia My Convenience Pack for 5 years at the time of purchase, which is a worthy investment and services are taken care of for 5 years. The service team are professional and always enquires about our experiences with the car and anything that needs to be done. Services are always done on time, and the team provides free pickup and drop too. The service from Kia is top-notch, and I couldn't be happier. To conclude, I would be providing a list of the Pros and Cons of the vehicle over my 2 years of ownership: Pros: 1. Feature-rich 2. Powerful engine 3. Excellent Fuel Economy 4. Stylish design 5. Excellent After-Sales Cons: 1. Rear Seat isn't the most spacious, best for 2 adults 2. Bumpy ride at high speeds
