I Recently Got A Chance. I recently got a chance to spend time with the Mahindra Thar lxd mt 2WD and honestly, it feels more than just a car. It has a strong personality, the first thing that stands out is bold look. Whenever I goes, people sees that design feels premium specially the hard top and definitely gives the adventure ready vibe. The diesel engine feel strong and smooth especially on highway and open road, the manual gearbox is enjoyable to use and the car feels more powerful while driving in city traffic, takes a little time to get used to its size but once you do driving become fun and confidence inside the cabin feels modern and comfortable.  Touch screen system, sound quality and over all dashboard design makes it feel much better than older off road SUVs. The seats are also comfortable for long drive and the main part is it's decent look.

Best Car For Off-roading. My best decision is to buy this car overall performance is much better previous year i brought this car mileage is also good in city it provide mileage of 10-12 and in highway it goes to 16 - 18 overall mileage is good in desel.  And the performance on mountains is also very good, Power is also.

King on roads!. It is the real king of SUV’s I have xuv700 with me already but the way people look at it while driving on road is totally different the way it looks and the 1.5 litre diesel engine is more than powerful for this 2 ton vehicle I overall loved the feel and performance of the vehicle it is full filling all my needs!

New Mahindra Thar RWD 2025. So, I finally saw and drove the new Thar RWD that launched today. Honestly, the vibe is still the same – proper jeep wali feel. Road pe nikalte hi log dekhte hi rh jate hai, its presence is just unbeatable. Drive karne mein bhi maza aata hai. Pickup decent hai, gearshifts smooth hain aur city + highway dono mein easily chal jaati hai. RWD honeke wajahse thoda zyada practical lagti hai daily use ke liye, aur 4x4 jitna heavy bhi pocket pe nahi padta. Interior simple but decent hai– AC powerful hai, seats comfy hain, aur cabin insulation pichhle model se better feel hua. Suspension abhi bhi thoda stiff hai, but Thar lovers ko waise bhi isi rugged feel ka maza chahiye hota hai. Bas ek cheez disappoint ki – abhi bhi sirf 2 airbags diye hain. 2025 a gaya, at least 4 ya 6 airbags to standard hone chahiye the. Safety pe thoda compromise lagta hai. Baaki honestly, jitni expectations thi, utna satisfy kiya. Thar RWD ek aisi gaadi hai jo chalate hi smile la deti hai. Mileage bhool jao, feel aur presence sab cover kar dete hain.

this clutch issue is with most mahindras, even our xuv 500 had it. Also i feel because of this problem the clutch burns also faster. My xuv got the clutch slip issue around 50k km itself even though i drive very smoothly..

Good Performance. The mahindra thar is one of the india's popular off roads SUV. Its 2nd generation touchscreen system is good.

At 19:01, the initial pickup of the car is directly contingent upon (1) The torque-RPM curve (at crank level): i.e., how much torque do you get in the beginning i.e., at the moment when you lift your foot from brake your RPM is probably at 700-900 and Mahindra's GDI engine makes roughly 50% of the peak value (which is 190 Nm) at the crank shaft. Another important thing to note is that GDI's torque profile looks very similar to their diesel engines i.e., hitting their peak at close to 1800 ish RPM and holding that flat till 3000 RPM, this is the zone where work gets done "linearly" or you feel strong linear pull. (2) Gear ratio of your transmission (at final wheel level): This is the amplification factor, i.e., this is how much the torque at crank gets "boosted up" when it reaches your wheels. In the case of Aisin sourced 6 speed AT, this stands somewhere around 3.6, so effectively you are getting close to ~500-550 Nm of torque considering some transmission losses (albeit at much lower RPM at wheels) as soon as you lift your foot. In short: You get close to 500-550 Nm of torque in the beginning when you lift your foot from brake (from literal stand still). This magnitude of torque is enough to generate strong acceleration in a 1700kg vehicle! I actually do these things for a living and have more than 12 German patents on these ;)

Mileage is very good depends on drivers and comfort's second name is mahindra thar Mahindra thar is also very good in road presence and the rural areas there is not good road but that's performance is always good and better from everywhere.

I think I know the jerkiness which you're talking about at 19:00 The Slavia 1.5 DSG unit is a downgraded box to meet Indian traffic conditions and overheating. The unit shifts to Neutral and shows D mode on console. When you release the brakes, the DSG unit takes a bit to switch back from N and start moving! The 1.0 Slavia with a torque converter unit is far more responsive in bumper to bumper traffic than the 1.5 DSG. You're soo used to the lag that you started enjoying it! Thar with its torque converter unit and additional torque gives a power surge, which translates to jerky feel for you.

As a Rajasthani, I have a sentimental connection with Thar jeeps. I so wanted to get the Thar Roxx. I am driving a Honda Brio right now. Went for a test drive of Thar and felt so disappointed with the below average acceleration, very high body roll(ladder on frame), a lot of road and engine noise (though engine doesn't scream and feels confident), high speed unstability (after 80-90kmph). XUV 3Xo performed much better. BE6 was just magical. XUV 700 also had much better ride comfort and dynamics. Thar Roxx is quite uncomfortable and impractical for most. Sad but true, and no one on you tube tells you this.

If you love standing out and crave versatility, the 2 Door Thar delivers in spades.

Mahindra Thar Black Beast – The Perfect Blend of Power and Style.. I purchased the Mahindra Thar in black a few months ago, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. The buying process was smooth, with helpful staff explaining all features in detail. The first drive itself gave a feeling of pure power and confidence — the engine roar, road presence, and high seating position make every trip special. It performs exceptionally well both in city traffic and rough terrain. The black colour looks premium but requires frequent cleaning to maintain its shine. Interiors are practical and comfortable, though the rear seats are slightly cramped. Mileage is decent for its segment, and performance is solid. Servicing has been professional and timely, with reasonable costs. It has Bold looks, a strong build, great off-road ability, powerful engine. The only cons are Limited boot space, average mileage, hard ride on rough roads. Regular servicing, underbody cleaning after off-road in, tyre rotation, and waxing to preserve the black shine. Overall, the Mahindra Thar is a perfect mix of adventure and style for those who love to stand out!

Btw I’ve also bought Roxx AX7L amt for my family, some are the common issues which you have addressed but most irritating which my whole family is facing is ‘No normal cruise control setting, It can only be set while auto braking On’ and this feature so annoying for us that like you removed wireless charging externally, we are thinking of removing it by any way-out. Please suggest some imp point over this issue !!
