Car is good but after sale service poor. I have purchased a new car and after one it's maintained cost and service were so poor by the dealer that they don't respond when you are get a problem and only money-making basic service is done if you get any kind of problem then they have no solutions like our car get tyre problem then they have no solution and other little problems also have no good dealing with unsatisfactory service.

I’m from Kerala and planning to buy our family’s first car, but since I’m currently abroad, my wife will be the primary user. She will drive only about twice a week, and the weekly mixed running will be under 100 km(Not in Heavy traffic). I’m considering three options: Kia Sonet Diesel AT, Kia Sonet DCT, and Tata Altroz DCA. I have a few concerns and would appreciate expert opinions: How reliable are DCT gearboxes and turbo-petrol engines? Do they commonly face overheating or durability issues, especially with light usage? For diesel engines, how serious are DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) issues when the car is not taken on longer highway drives (like 60 km or more in a single stretch)? Given our low running, is a diesel automatic with a torque-converter gearbox a suitable and reliable choice for us? Looking forward to insights from automotive specialists. Thank you!

Honest Review of My Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition (3 Years) I have been using my Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition for the past three years, and overall it has been a very satisfying experience. Some aspects of the car really stand out, while a few areas could have been better especially rear seat space and shocks are a bit stiff.

Excellent Driving feel. Bought a Kia 1 month back and driven it 500kms till now, and I must tell you the driving experience is awesome. I have driven 3XO and Nexon, but this one is the most comfortable driving possible. It has a good and unique design that people notice on the street, interior is designed to keep everything sleek and fancy. I don't know why people have problems with the suspension of Sonet. I personally find it very comfortable. Driving AT Diseal didn't give me any power issues, in fact, in sports mode it flies like a rocket. Wireless charging, safety features like auto local unlock as per speed and front back sensors, sunroof, auto stop mode of traffic, let's you have all the premium features at just 13-14 lakhs, which is awesome. My friend has a high model and he is jealous of me. I find it a good buy for a family car

Kia Sonet. This is my very first car, and I must say, it’s been a delight so far. From the outside, it looks stunning, and from the inside, it feels even more premium—almost like being in a luxury car. The finishing, feel, touch, and overall comfort are excellent. I opted for the HTK optional variant, which comes loaded with features like automatic AC, automatic headlights, foldable ORVMs, a sunroof, rear AC vents, and one-touch automatic window controls (operable both individually and from the driver’s seat). The driving experience is smooth and enjoyable. Yes, you can feel the bumps a bit on potholes if you’re going fast, but overall, the suspension works well. Currently, I’m getting an average of 9–10 km/l, but I have only driven 240 km in the past two months, so I expect it to improve. The handling is excellent, and driving it is genuinely fun. I have already completed the first service, which mainly involved routine checks. My experience with Kia’s service centre was great—they handle everything smoothly, take regular follow-ups, and keep you updated via WhatsApp with details and photos of the work being done. It gives you complete peace of mind without having to put in much effort yourself. Also, boot space is quite good and rear seat comfort is also fine. Safety is also good, 6 airbags, tyre monitoring, front and back parking sensors with a camera. EBD, EBS, front disc and rear drum brakes. Height-adjustable seats with all functionality provided on the car steering. Car steering is also adjustable, but not telescopic.

During monsoons in Udupi, the grip and braking gave me confidence. Service costs have been reasonable, and Kia’s network is growing fast. It’s not just a car—it’s a statement. I didn't satisfy with safety and other things are good, mileage and comfort is good and features are excellent, when I take a test drive of this car, I went to the showroom, I drove it and I'm satisfied with the comfort, all of the features availble, features in this price segment, everything is good in this car.

CRDI Engine Diesel AT. Good family compact SUV. Purchased Diesel AT HTX Variant on last January 2026. Crdi engine is top notch. Perfomance wise is good engine on this segment. Premium interior, especially ventilated seats are very useful during summer. 6 Airbags standard. Automatic climate control AC. Good mileage in diesel automatic variant.

I purchased the Kia Sonet HTK Optional after comparing several cars in this segment, and it has turned out to be one of my best decisions. The buying experience was smooth, and the dealership staff explained all the features and variants clearly, which made the selection process easy. The first thing that impressed me was the road presence. The Sonet looks premium and sporty, and many people still ask if it's a higher variant. The LED DRLs, alloy wheels, and overall design make it stand out on the road. The cabin feels modern, and the fit and finish are surprisingly good for this price range. Driving in city traffic is effortless due to its compact dimensions, while highway drives feel stable and confidence-inspiring. The suspension is well balanced and handles bad roads comfortably without making passengers feel uneasy. The engine performance is smooth and refined, and the steering is light for city use while offering good confidence at higher speeds. What I particularly like is that the HTK Optional variant offers excellent value for money. It gives most of the practical features that families need without stretching the budget to higher variants. The rear seat comfort, boot space, and infotainment system are all adequate for daily commuting and weekend trips. Service costs have been reasonable so far, and Kia's service network has been satisfactory. Pros: Premium looks, feature-rich package, comfortable ride quality, practical cabin space, easy city driving, good value for money. Cons: Rear visibility could have been slightly better, and some premium features are reserved for higher variants.

Kia Sonet - Stylish Opulent Nimble Efficient Trendy. The need for a new car arose in late 2022, when we wanted a better car for longer trips, and our old car wasn't doing the job. So we searched for a real automatic car, barring AMTs, as our previous experience with AMTs wasn't great, we wanted something that is fuel efficient with good ground clearance and features, all under 15 lakhs on the road at the time. So we weren't initially interested in Diesel, considering most were mated to AMTs, but then one day the Sonet caught our eye. It had the same 1.5 1.5-litre diesel engine as the larger Seltos mated to a Torque Converter Automatic. This was perhaps a unique proposition in the sub-four-metre SUV space then, as no car had a Diesel Automatic then, all had Diesel AMTs only. So we went to the showroom and got a test drive, and we were immediately impressed. We had gone for test drives on other cars in the segment, but none of them had all of us happy like the Sonet. So we decided to proceed with the purchase. The buying experience was excellent, with everything arranged quite quickly. There was a delivery ceremony with cake cutting and key handover; it was such a great experience from Kia Thrissur. Now, coming to the driving, the car drives well, with no smooth shifts and linear acceleration, the torque is addictive and overtakes on the highway are easy, the car is a good mile muncher too and gives great mileage on the highway and the city alike, I have got over 26 kmpl on the highway while average mileage stands at around 19 kmpl, in the city, the mileage does take a dip but I have been getting around 15 kmpl and I am quite satisfied with the mileage. We have gone on trips from Thrissur to Bangalore, Thrissur to Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur to Wayanad, Thrissur to Chennai and a whole lot more on our Sonet, and the comfort, mileage and reassurance that the Sonet gives us is second to none. Coming to looks, it is a looker even today, and the Aurora Black Pearl colour perfectly complements its curves and creases. The car looks bold in this colour, and we are absolutely in love with the car's looks. Moving on to features, it is one of the most feature-loaded cars in the segment with features like remote engine start-stop, reverse camera, touchscreen infotainment, rear sunblinds, sunroof, TPMS and a whole lot more. The boot is large with 392 litres to gobble up all your luggage. As regards performance, it is a perfect match of mileage and performance, when you want the best from it in terms of performance, it gives it to you with a 0 to 100 time of around 11 seconds, while if you crave mileage you can chug along the entire day around 60 kmph and get mileage in the 20s too. Coming to servicing and maintenance, we had taken the Kia My Convenience Pack for 5 years at the time of purchase, which is a worthy investment and services are taken care of for 5 years. The service team are professional and always enquires about our experiences with the car and anything that needs to be done. Services are always done on time, and the team provides free pickup and drop too. The service from Kia is top-notch, and I couldn't be happier. Bought the Kia Sonet, Regret the Decision. I bought the Kia Sonet expecting a comfortable and tech-friendly car, but honestly, it hasn’t lived up to the hype. The first and biggest issue is comfort. The suspension is quite stiff, and you feel almost every bump on bad roads. City driving itself becomes tiring, and long drives are even worse. The seats look premium but lack proper cushioning, especially for the thighs. Rear seat comfort is poor, and three adults at the back feel cramped very quickly. The ADAS features were another major disappointment. On paper, they sound impressive, but in real Indian traffic conditions, they don’t work smoothly. Sometimes the warnings are too sensitive and annoying, and other times they fail to react when you actually expect them to. Instead of feeling safer, it often feels distracting and unreliable. Road noise and engine noise are clearly noticeable at higher speeds, which ruins the driving experience. For a car priced in the premium compact SUV segment, this level of refinement is not acceptable. Overall, Kia Sonet feels more focused on looks and features than real comfort and usability. I expected much better value for the price paid and wouldn’t recommend it to someone who prioritizes comfort and practical safety features.
