Could have been much better, but Mahindra wants to sell Roxx too. Car is not available in many showrooms yet, I had to drive few hours to another showroom in another city, you cannot book a test drive, yet Mahindra opens bookings. Here’s what’s the problem with this thar OG, PLASTIC ROOF, weak A & B pillars, thin metal in the doors, mostly plastic body, cheap plastic used in the doors, speakers sound like toy piano (in the top ZXT variant) , funny quality of the reverse camera, trust me if you see the camera of a cheapest Tata car in price, Tiago mid model, the difference is cheapest android phone camera vs latest iPhone. And the annoying one, wired apple CarPlay. Slightly long clutch travel, uncomfortable reverse gear applying mechanism. Here’s what’s I liked about thar OG, 19’ MRF AT tyres in ZXT, that was a great selection of the tyres, leatherette seats & rear seats are actually comfortable now. Front looks a lot better now.

The Ultimate Weekend Freedom Machine. The Mahindra Thar is a lifestyle statement on wheels, built for those who crave adventure. Unmatched in its price bracket, it boasts incredible 4x4 capabilities, a high driving position, and a commanding street presence that turns heads everywhere. However, it’s a purpose-built off-roader, which comes with trade-offs. The ride can feel bumpy on broken city streets, boot space is virtually non-existent with the rear seats up, and ingress/egress is tough for elderly passengers.

Mahindra Thar. Driving the 2 Door Thar in Bangalore’s KR Puram was an exhilarating experience. The Thar’s rugged build and distinctive Jeep styling immediately make an impression, commanding respect on the city’s busy roads. Its elevated seating position provides excellent visibility, helping you navigate Bengaluru traffic with confidence and ease. The engine performance is robust, offering plenty of power when needed — whether for city sprints or occasional highway bursts. While handling is impressive at moderate speeds, you’ll notice some body roll during sharp turns, and the wide turning radius can make tight maneuvers a bit tricky. Interior features are practical; there’s enough comfort for front passengers, but accessing the rear seat requires a bit of effort due to the 2-door layout. The ride quality is generally bumpy over uneven city streets, reflecting its off-road character more than urban polish. Despite these quirks, the Thar’s combination of style, capability, and fun factor makes it a unique choice for adventurous drivers in Bangalore. If you love standing out and crave versatility, the 2 Door Thar delivers in spades.

Bro I also have the thar ROXX but the mx5 variant the lower one from the top model and it misses basic features such as wireless charger ventilated seats etc so no doubt this is a great car but only if you buy the top model I paid 20 lakhs for this and still miss features like this, I now think that I should've bought the facelifted kia seltos.

I’ve owned the 4x4 roxx for a year and have driven 17k km. The car is excellent below are the few cons i found. Cons : * suspensions are over hyped, the body roll is bad and I hope some after market solution comes for it. * front seats aren’t designed for tall passengers, me being 6’1 and I literally have no lower or upper back support.

0:12: Stock halogen headlight is sufficient in the city and on highway where there's pitch darkness; however, in the upcoming vehicles's beam, it is not sufficient. 0:17: He had to do 5 times regen (DEF regeneration) because he is NOT taking his Thar on the highway drive for 30 minutes at minimum 2500 RPM. If he does this, there's absolutely no DEF problem. He might also be using low quality fuel. I fill up Shell V-Power Diesel and the performance is simply out of the world in terms of pick-up/tork/mileage. 5:32: Mileage for good quality Diesel fuel is 14-16 in the City and 16 to 18 on highway. 7:17: As Thar has "Body on Frame", there's a good amount of body roll and undulations on the flat road, but you can drive at a speed of 120 comfortably with body roll and undulations on the highway; you will enjoy; however, beyond 120 speed, you do not feel the confidence due to less breaking power during emergency breaking and body roll. The most ideal speed is between 80 to 100. You will enjoy the drive like anything. 7:31: Wind noise can be felt above 110; for that, Thar owners do "Damping" that totally reduces the wind and tire noise. See, there's solution for everything; you just need to know. 8:10: Infotainment system in the uplift Thar is very decent and suffice the purpose. The same infotainment system is used in Thar ROXX. 9:07: Comfort is good; didn't face any problem at my height 5"7. However, I felt issue with its Breaking. Breaks are very low and not very dependent especially in case of emergency breaking. You need to be very careful in using the breaks at a high speed. 10:07: Paint quality is definitely good; I have Everest White and the paint is superb! 11:13: No Diesel smell at all in the uplift version of Thar 2025. Absolutely not! 14:12: Advice as a Thar uplift 2025 Diesel owner: A word of caution is that, Thar cannot be your extended family car for sure. If you have a big family, do not buy Thar as your primary vehicle. If you already have a primary vehicle for your big family, just go ahead and buy it without thinking or surveying too much; don't think too much. Just buy it and enjoy it. Also, note that the boot space is very limited as Thar is a "sub-4 (meter)" SUV. My family has only two members - husband and wife, so we bought a Thar uplift and we are thoroughly enjoying it everyday. No complaints and no issues. Hope this feedback help to the aspiring people.

Worth It, Rock Solid. Using thar for tour, almost few months now and overall its a really fun SUV to drive, road presence is amazing and people always notice it, rear seat comfort can improve little bit for long journey. I Recently Got A Chance. I recently got a chance to spend time with the Mahindra Thar lxd mt 2WD and honestly, it feels more than just a car. It has a strong personality, the first thing that stands out is bold look. Whenever I goes, people sees that design feels premium specially the hard top and definitely gives the adventure ready vibe. The diesel engine feel strong and smooth especially on highway and open road, the manual gearbox is enjoyable to use and the car feels more powerful while driving in city traffic, takes a little time to get used to its size but once you do driving become fun and confidence inside the cabin feels modern and comfortable.  Touch screen system, sound quality and over all dashboard design makes it feel much better than older off road SUVs. The seats are also comfortable for long drive and the main part is it's decent look.

Best Suv And Offroader Under 15 Lakhs. Best off roader under 15 lakhs, with 3 engines and good power, this time mahindra has worked well. New Thar OG offers good looks with increase in seating positions of driver and all passengers and new round shaped DRL like Thar Roxx. Mahindra has well worked in its suspension with dampering technology.

Mahindra Thar Black Beast – The Perfect Blend of Power and Style.. I purchased the Mahindra Thar in black a few months ago, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. The buying process was smooth, with helpful staff explaining all features in detail. The first drive itself gave a feeling of pure power and confidence — the engine roar, road presence, and high seating position make every trip special. It performs exceptionally well both in city traffic and rough terrain. The black colour looks premium but requires frequent cleaning to maintain its shine. Interiors are practical and comfortable, though the rear seats are slightly cramped. Mileage is decent for its segment, and performance is solid. Servicing has been professional and timely, with reasonable costs. It has Bold looks, a strong build, great off-road ability, powerful engine. The only cons are Limited boot space, average mileage, hard ride on rough roads. Regular servicing, underbody cleaning after off-road in, tyre rotation, and waxing to preserve the black shine. Overall, the Mahindra Thar is a perfect mix of adventure and style for those who love to stand out!

New Mahindra Thar RWD 2025. So, I finally saw and drove the new Thar RWD that launched today. Honestly, the vibe is still the same – proper jeep wali feel. Road pe nikalte hi log dekhte hi rh jate hai, its presence is just unbeatable. Drive karne mein bhi maza aata hai. Pickup decent hai, gearshifts smooth hain aur city + highway dono mein easily chal jaati hai. RWD honeke wajahse thoda zyada practical lagti hai daily use ke liye, aur 4x4 jitna heavy bhi pocket pe nahi padta. Interior simple but decent hai– AC powerful hai, seats comfy hain, aur cabin insulation pichhle model se better feel hua. Suspension abhi bhi thoda stiff hai, but Thar lovers ko waise bhi isi rugged feel ka maza chahiye hota hai. Bas ek cheez disappoint ki – abhi bhi sirf 2 airbags diye hain. 2025 a gaya, at least 4 ya 6 airbags to standard hone chahiye the. Safety pe thoda compromise lagta hai. Baaki honestly, jitni expectations thi, utna satisfy kiya. Thar RWD ek aisi gaadi hai jo chalate hi smile la deti hai. Mileage bhool jao, feel aur presence sab cover kar dete hain.

Thar. Maine Mahindra Thar used li aur use daily driving ke saath off-road bhi chalaya hai. Gaadi chalate hi power aur strong build ka confidence milta hai. Gaddhe, kacche road aur rough rasto par bina problem nikal jaati hai. Highway par drive stable lagti hai, bas speed badhne par wind noise thoda feel hota hai. Front seats comfortable hain, lekin rear seat long drive ke liye thodi tight hai. Mileage average milta hai par performance ke hisaab se theek lagta hai. Overall Thar un logon ke liye best hai jo normal car se alag experience chahte hain

I have test driven the thar roxx i found the seat squab to be short in length as i sit a little upright while driving and found under thigh support to be significantly less and within the 10mins of test drive started getting back pain, my height is 5ft-10in.. was an immediate deal breaker..

Trust me except Innova..no car has good driving space..i have driven many cars as i am in detailing business...btw my height is 6'3.. I only get space when seat height is set to lowest..
