Owner review with 50000 KMs. Car is generally good, bad in terms of city mileage, parts availability is a big issue. Feature loaded for the segment. I personally own HTX iMT variant, since it is clutchless, city driving experience is really good, for traffic.

Persistent Gear Noise and Unresolved Transmission Issues Post-Clutch Repair. I have the iMT variant, and it was fantastic for the first three years. However, after almost four years of driving and nearly 40k km on the odometer, the car has started giving me trouble. The clutch cylinder failed and had to be replaced recently. ​Ever since that repair, the car makes a weird noise in 2nd and 3rd gear. Sometimes it makes a distinct rattling sound when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I’ve taken it to the dealer 3 or 4 times, but they haven't been able to solve the issue. As usual, they just run a diagnostic scan, find no error codes, and do nothing else. I’m still trying to find a solution to get this resolved.

Interiors & Comfort Step inside, and the cabin feels instantly premium. It is easily one of the most feature-loaded and tech-savvy cars in its price segment. The dashboard layout is intuitive, the touchscreen infotainment is highly responsive, and the front seats offer great bolstering and comfort for long drives. However, the rear seat space is a bit of a pinch; it is best suited for two adults rather than three, and taller passengers might find the knee room a little tight. Performance & Handling Driving the Sonet in city traffic is absolutely effortless. The steering is light and nimble, making it very easy to maneuver through tight spots and park in crowded areas. On the open highway, the car shows impressive stability and feels planted at higher speeds. The ride quality is generally good, though the suspension is tuned slightly on the firmer side, meaning you will feel sharp bumps and potholes inside the cabin when driving at lower speeds. Mileage & Maintenance In bumper-to-city traffic, the car delivers a practical mileage of around 11–13 kmpl. On the highways, if you maintain steady speeds, the fuel economy easily goes up to 16–18 kmpl, making it a fairly balanced mile-muncher. Kia's after-sales service has also been quite positive and hassle-free so far.

I like this one. This is a good car considering the IMT feature. I love to use it, but face its failure within 35k KM.but as per feedback by the showroom, there are only 3 cases with such conditions, average is good mostly about 15km, comfort is also very Good I like the same and more over, it is very luxurious under the segment

Kia Sonet - Stylish Opulent Nimble Efficient Trendy. The need for a new car arose in late 2022, when we wanted a better car for longer trips, and our old car wasn't doing the job. So we searched for a real automatic car, barring AMTs, as our previous experience with AMTs wasn't great, we wanted something that is fuel efficient with good ground clearance and features, all under 15 lakhs on the road at the time. So we weren't initially interested in Diesel, considering most were mated to AMTs, but then one day the Sonet caught our eye. It had the same 1.5 1.5-litre diesel engine as the larger Seltos mated to a Torque Converter Automatic. This was perhaps a unique proposition in the sub-four-metre SUV space then, as no car had a Diesel Automatic then, all had Diesel AMTs only. So we went to the showroom and got a test drive, and we were immediately impressed. We had gone for test drives on other cars in the segment, but none of them had all of us happy like the Sonet. So we decided to proceed with the purchase. The buying experience was excellent, with everything arranged quite quickly. There was a delivery ceremony with cake cutting and key handover; it was such a great experience from Kia Thrissur. Now, coming to the driving, the car drives well, with no smooth shifts and linear acceleration, the torque is addictive and overtakes on the highway are easy, the car is a good mile muncher too and gives great mileage on the highway and the city alike, I have got over 26 kmpl on the highway while average mileage stands at around 19 kmpl, in the city, the mileage does take a dip but I have been getting around 15 kmpl and I am quite satisfied with the mileage. We have gone on trips from Thrissur to Bangalore, Thrissur to Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur to Wayanad, Thrissur to Chennai and a whole lot more on our Sonet, and the comfort, mileage and reassurance that the Sonet gives us is second to none. Coming to looks, it is a looker even today, and the Aurora Black Pearl colour perfectly complements its curves and creases. The car looks bold in this colour, and we are absolutely in love with the car's looks. Moving on to features, it is one of the most feature-loaded cars in the segment with features like remote engine start-stop, reverse camera, touchscreen infotainment, rear sunblinds, sunroof, TPMS and a whole lot more. The boot is large with 392 litres to gobble up all your luggage. As regards performance, it is a perfect match of mileage and performance, when you want the best from it in terms of performance, it gives it to you with a 0 to 100 time of around 11 seconds, while if you crave mileage you can chug along the entire day around 60 kmph and get mileage in the 20s too. Coming to servicing and maintenance, we had taken the Kia My Convenience Pack for 5 years at the time of purchase, which is a worthy investment and services are taken care of for 5 years. The service team are professional and always enquires about our experiences with the car and anything that needs to be done. Services are always done on time, and the team provides free pickup and drop too. The service from Kia is top-notch, and I couldn't be happier. Performance that beats estimates. Have been using this for the last 3 years and drove over 40000 kms, including multiple long rides. The best thing about this car is its performance and comfort during long drives. Features are totally value for money, and the service experience is good too, coming from a previous Maruti owner. I have got mileage higher than ARAI mileage in this car and have got 18-19 with ac on, long rides too, at an average speed of 70-80.

Car is good but after sale service poor. I have purchased a new car and after one it's maintained cost and service were so poor by the dealer that they don't respond when you are get a problem and only money-making basic service is done if you get any kind of problem then they have no solutions like our car get tyre problem then they have no solution and other little problems also have no good dealing with unsatisfactory service.

Infotainment panel started behaving abnormally. In July 2024, I took my Kia Sonet for service. It was perfect, but immediately after the service, the steering wheel and infotainment panel started behaving abnormally. The steering wheel makes a 'gharr' 'gharr' sound when rotating, and the infotainment panel's touch began acting strangely with a beep-beep sound. I immediately called them, and I was told that these issues would be repaired during the next servicing. I had other cars, so I did not face many problems, as these irregularities did not disturb my driving. When I contacted them next time, I was told the warranty period is over and now repairing is chargeable, though it's a manufacturing defect.

Kia Life Saver. Kia gave the best service and after sales, staff was very nice and they gave a good budget breakdown to me. They gave me the best discount details, it was my first car so they gave me alot of good accessories, would recommed you all to choose kia as a good option.

Selling Faulty Vehicles. I want to warn anyone planning to buy a Kia vehicle — please think twice. My own experience has shown that Kia’s after-sales support is nowhere near what they promise. Even with a clear mechanical issue like the reverse gear not engaging, Kia’s authorised service centre kept denying the problem instead of fixing it. They were not ready to provide a written “No Fault Found” letter either, which clearly shows a lack of accountability. If this is how Kia treats customers while the car is still under warranty, future buyers should be prepared for major frustration. Before choosing Kia, potential customers should understand that the brand’s after-sales service may not support you when you face genuine issues — and that reality is far from the so-called “premium experience” advertised in the market.

Bhai, this actuator problem in iMT model is for real and big headache... mine was 2021 HTK Plus iMT model and it ran very well upto 3.5 years and I infact drove around 34000 kms and all of sudden on the highway my gears got locked... Had to apply emergency brakes to stop and then after switching off and on somehow drove my car upto my house in 1st gear at snails speed... When went to KiA initially they said complete TCU needs to be changed and it shall cost you Rs. 1.45 lacs. I told him to comeback with proper diagnosis as no way i am going to spend so much as till now everything looked good and all of sudden can't digest such huge sum... after 2 days he called me and said Rs. 80k tak hoga... i took some time and went to service station and just like you, took my car non repaired. but then he was saying if you are wiiling to spend 40k then kuch kar sakte hey... here more than money whats important is that were they really able to diagnose the issue or not as 1.45 cannot become 40k.... Also checked with some people who said they changed necessary parts yet issue came back after 2 months... Eventually i decided to sell my car at heavy discount and bought a new Maruti Suzuki Car for better reliability.

Very low power engine and very low mileage. Buying experience was good, agency members' behaviour also was very good , riding experience is not good due to low power of engine,car take to much time to pick the speed , and very low mileage, my car giving mileage in city or rural area 12-13 kmpl , and on highway 14-15 kmpl . Car service staff was supportive in Panipat .

It could be a lot better. The buying experience was a good riding experience, actually; it was a bit laggy when we pressed the pedal performance is good, good service and maintenance. I would say that it is like after the first 1500 service. The speakers just got damaged. I don’t know how, and as everyone knows that it has Bose speakers, so I don’t think this should happen, and the back speakers, I think they’re not real. In prose, it has everything functional and a good interior, a good touchscreen, etc.

KIA SONET FULL REVIEW. I didn't satisfy with safety and other things are good, mileage and comfort is good and features are excellent, when I take a test drive of this car, I went to the showroom, I drove it and I'm satisfied with the comfort, all of the features availble, features in this price segment, everything is good in this car.

The performance is best of kia cars, mileage is better than Hyundai car and Mahindra cars, and the cars safety is very much better. I love kia services, very low price from other companies and boot space of kia is good. Kia Sonet is very power ful car compare to the other company and has better performance. I love kia.

I'm using a diesel automatic Kia, top-of-the-line previous version. It's been 3 years and 30k KM with zero issues! Kia service is amazing – they really prioritize customer satisfaction. It's such a smooth cruiser; 100-120 km/h is effortless. I've driven 800km and 1200km non-stop in two days! Mileage is around 20-21 on highways and 12-13 in city traffic. Perfect family car if you are 4 people with kids! Boot space is really good too. And it's powerful – 40-100 and 80-120 are super quick! 🤩🚗💨

true i owned sonet htx diesel automatic and it's more efficient i have creta 2016 too 1.6 but this 1.5 diesel engine is so powerful and gear shifts are so smooth with 7 dct gearbox....in short akh band karke le lo.....best after sales too better than mahindra
