Fun to Drive, Solid on Highways. I recently drove the Volkswagen Taigun and honestly, the driving experience was really good. 21 lakh rupees according to me is not justified for this car because it is a 1.0 engine which produces 120 bhp. It is a good engine but for a price tag of 21 lakh it is underpowered, you can get a xuv 7xo ax7 for 22.8 lakh which produce 200bhp and 380 nm of torque that car is bigger in size,fun to drive and fast AF and with a lot of tech inside, creta turbo is a better option than this, so is the seltos turbo and the features in the taigun is nothing crazy all the cars in this segment provides these features like ventilated seats ,electric adjustable seats.

I have owned this car from the year 2022 and I have the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine version and I drive every day 35 kms for commute in Jaipur in jam-packed traffic and the DCT gearbox has never given me any problems. I have no idea why the reviewers always point this thing out for the car.
well i went for the 1.5 engine instead of 1.0 engine.. bought skoda slavia.. AC is good in 1.5 and low end torque is better too.. only in bumper to bumper traffic i get single digit mileage otherwise in non traffic slow city conditions like get double digits mileage.. that time i had option of 1.0 style variant and 1.5 mid variant both prices similarly.. now they have removed the mid 1.5 variants and only give high end variants.. also skoda launched kylaq so because of kylaq sales there service ceners are twice of vw.. maybe after tera launch and 1 year sales vw may increase service centers.. i frequently use redflow fuel injector cleaner and it improves mileage too.. like after every 2 tankfulls..
AC can be improved via coding.. Injectors are covered under warranty.. You can buy extended warranty.. German cars gives better highway performance and hence parts are still expensive.. If only city usage and mileage then diesel is not good unless DPF regen doesn't happen it will be chocked please do reasearch on this before buying XUV300 diesel.. Bought Taigun GT 1.5L manual | 40,000km | 13 month | Performance : Good | service is average only not to the expected level | break pad changed at 30,000km. I had problem with the bucket seats, so I replaced all the seats. Other than that no issues I faced.
12:00 My father have Taigun before facelift 1L and is giving in these heat waves in bumper to bumper traffic mileage of 7 and in normal city near 10 in short highway trips have given near 12 but i never saw more but it is a fantastic car only car which my father felt worth to ride after diesel EcoSports below 15-16 lakhs because of the stability and enough pickup
My NIGHTMARE With The Taigun. Taigun is my 3rd vehicle from VW after a Vento and Polo. I have driven 70K plus KM in the earlier two models and 20K miles in Taigun. I love VW so much that I decided not to dispose the Vento and Polo and i'm still using all three. Cospared to the experience I had with the other two modelse Taigun has not lived up to it. Main reasons being. 1. Low torque or pulling power compared even to Polo. 2. Very low mileage in city. 10 km if trafgic free & 6 to 7 km in case of traffic. 3. My Taigun has just completed 1 year and touching 20 K kilometers. Two days back while driving in the city suddenly the clutch failed in the middle of morning traffic. Expereiencing such failure within one year and less than 20K km is a nightmare. My love for VW has taken a beating. Understand that there have been many complaints of clutch failure in Taigun.
I having Taigun GT 1.5 purchased on 2023 and driven 92000 km there is no issue for me and still better performance and no issues

Sorry brother. You are wrong in one place. The 1.5 DSG is jerky in slow city speeds particularly when tackling potholes and speed bumpers. It tends to shift to 1st gear when it should be in 2nd year. However on open roads, it is the best engine and gear box. Period…

What he says is 100% true. One of the worst car that I ever owned in my lifetime. I faced lot of issues related to ergonomic, sensors, engine performance and suspension. Whatever issues you raise with service centre they simply say it exists in all cars and escape the situation. Technicians are the worst who doesn't know how to analyze an issue or to give a solution. I sold the car within 8 months of purchase with heavy loss. Never ever choose VW or SKODA now a days. It's purely a scam. Not worth the money we spend. It doesn't give pleasure rather it gives lot of stress after owning it.
I met this guy(who owns this car) 3months before in Kun Ambattur service center he talk to me about this issue and I also own VW taigun I don’t have any complaints on handling or performance, naturally this vehicle is stiff/hard suspension but this guy downgrading the VW due to this issue. I also recommend him soft Tyre change like Michelin or conti and also damping to reduce noise. But one thing old imported VW quality is not there in interior but i don’t see no issues, usually the steering in this model have little click sound or mild shake since this automatically adjust stiffness while driving in speed or slow.. I also bought in mount road Sundram and now servicing in ambatuur
